On iPhone, clocking in starts a Live Activity: a live shift timer on the lock screen until clock-out. It starts even when the punch happened on a kiosk, so staff always know the clock is running.

Works in the signal dead spots
Basements, loading bays and rural sites lose signal, but the clock does not. In the staff app, punches made offline are saved on the phone with their true time and sync automatically the moment it is back online, so nobody loses a minute of pay.

How does geofenced clock-in work?
You draw a radius around each workplace. Each punch stores whether it was made inside that radius, and out-of-radius punches are flagged on the timesheet for a manager to review. Staff see clearly that location is checked at punch time.
What if some staff do not have smartphones?
Use kiosk mode, which comes with Pro: any shared tablet becomes a clock-in point with per-person PINs, or an iPad becomes a face-recognition terminal for staff who opt in, which Enterprise includes and Pro and above can add. Phone, kiosk, NFC and desktop punches all land on the same timesheet.
Is there a desktop time clock?
Yes. The Mac desktop app, a lightweight companion rather than a heavy install, lets desk-based staff clock in and out without opening a browser, alongside the web app, the staff app on iPhone and Android, and the kiosk. A Windows system-tray version is on the way.
What is the lock-screen shift timer?
On iPhone, clocking in starts a Live Activity: a live timer on the lock screen showing the running shift until clock-out. It starts even when the punch was made on a kiosk, via push.
What happens if there is no signal when someone clocks in?
In the staff app, the punch is saved on the phone with the exact time it was made and syncs on its own once signal returns. The recorded time is the moment they tapped, not the moment it synced, so the timesheet stays honest.
Does it track staff all day?
No. We record a clock-in and a clock-out, and check location at those two moments only. Staff are not tracked in between, and that is how the product is built.
How do timesheets get to payroll?
Approved hours export as a payroll-ready file including overtime and absence, and integrations cover Xero, Staffology, QuickBooks and FreeAgent. Salary and day-rate staff are handled alongside hourly.
What stops buddy punching?
GPS stamps and geofence flags tie the punch to the place, kiosk PINs or face recognition tie it to the person, and punch records are timestamped and auditable. Together they remove the easy routes.
