The problem
Construction time tracking fails in the same three ways: paper timesheets no one can read, a clock-in that needs signal a site does not have, and hours that cannot be split by site or job so costing is a guess. The fix is a clock-in that works offline and ties the punch to the gate, timesheets that carry the site and project, and pay types that match how trades actually get paid.

Clock-in that survives the dead spots
Basements, plant rooms and rural sites lose signal, but the clock does not. In the staff app, punches made offline are saved on the phone with their true time and sync automatically the moment signal returns, so nobody loses a minute of pay and no punch is invented later.

Tie the punch to the gate
Staff clock in from their phone with a GPS stamp and a geofence check, or tap an NFC tag fixed at the site entrance for a two-second punch. Location is checked at clock-in, never through the day, so who was on which site is provable without tracking anyone around it.

Timesheets by site and project
Punches become timesheet entries automatically, carrying the site and project so hours cost correctly. Managers approve by exception, and salary, day-rate and hourly pay types are all handled, per site and per job.

Questions from construction & trades teams
Does clock-in work where there is no signal?
Yes. In the staff app, offline punches save on the phone with the exact time they were made and sync automatically once signal returns. The recorded time is the moment the person tapped, not the moment it synced.
Can we split hours by site and job?
Yes. Punches carry the site and project, so timesheets and labour cost break down per site and per job rather than as one undifferentiated total.
Do you handle day rate pay and CIS?
Yes to both. Salary, day rate and hourly pay run per site and per project, and CIS deductions are worked out on approved weeks for subcontractors and labour companies, with the monthly return figures and the statements ready to hand to whoever files them.
Is there any hardware to install on site?
No wall unit and no support contract. Staff use the phones they already carry, and an optional tag at the gate is written from the app in seconds.
Can it track CSCS cards and other tickets?
Yes. CSCS cards, plant tickets and first aid sit on each worker's profile with expiry dates and reminders, so a card about to lapse surfaces weeks before it becomes a refusal at the gate. Switch the check on and a shift that needs a ticket can warn, or refuse the clock-in, when the card has lapsed.
Does it run an emergency roll call?
Yes. The site register shows who is inside the gate right now, and when the alarm goes a roll call opens from that same register with everyone on the clock and every signed-in visitor on it, ticked off at the muster point on a phone.
Can we capture site inductions and RAMS?
Yes. Send RAMS and toolbox talks to a site or a trade and see who has read and signed them. Inductions can be required before somebody clocks in at that site, and the form builder covers vehicle checks and incident reports with signatures and photo evidence.
